GNC to host Ghanafest 2016 at Northerly Island

The Ghana National Council of Metropolitan Chicago is making plans to host Ghanafest 2016 at Northerly Island(formerly Meigs Field) on 1521 S. Linn White Drive in downtown Chicago.  In explaining the move the President of GNC, Mr. Ebenezer Antwi-Nsiah stated that moving to Northerly Island would enable more people to attend Ghanafest because the location is central.  Northerly Island is right in the middle of the museum district and holding Ghanafest would attract visitors to the various museums.

President Antwi-Nsiah explained that the GNC is aware that parking would be a problem to most attendees since parking during Ghanafest has historically been free. The GNC has decided to lease several parking garage spaces next to the event location and that would give attendees the free parking enjoyed in previous years.

The President also stated that Northerly Island has indoor facilities where video of documentary on Ghana would be showing during the event.  The Chjicago Park District event venue also has a tent and a marquee tent which would serve as a waklway to the event grounds.
