National Council provides Ghanaian community
children in Chicago
with school supplies
The Ghana National Council distributed school
supplies, including backpacks and calculators among about 50 Ghanaian
children in Chicago at the St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 1012 East 47th
Street in Chicago.
The GNC had advertised the event on Sankofa
Online (the Ghanaian online publication) and on Facebook.
Present at the event were the President of the GNC, Mr.
Ebenezer Antwi-Nsiah, the Vice President, Paa Kwesi Sam, the GNC
Organizing Secretary, Mr. Steve Dei, Mr. Sadik Aboagye, Executive
Secretary of GNC, and Mr. Fred Eddie-Quartey, Business Manager of
Food was also provided for the children and
their parents. The
parents thanked the GNC for their effort and expressed their
gratitude for the gesture.
The GNC President apologized for the late launch of the
program but expressed optimism that next year the program will serve
more children and will be launched earlier.
Parents had to register either by clicking a
link on Sankofa or logging on to the GNC website.
